The Food Pantry In Action
Since 1976, Camp Friendship has been a trusted anchor in Park Slope, Brooklyn. When the neighborhood lacked safe spaces and programming for children from working class families, our organization grew to be one of the largest free and low-cost youth programs in Park Slope. Hundreds of children went through Camp Friendship, forming a strong community that is now giving back to restart our youth program.
When Covid-19 struck, we asked: How can we continue to nurture children and their families? We opened a weekly emergency food pantry and we discovered that the tentacles of food insecurity dug deep into our neighborhood. From June 2020 until today, we have been open every Saturday to ensure our neighbors have access to nutritious food.
Our Impact
Today, the Camp Friendship Food Pantry is a vital neighborhood resource that believes in providing healthy food, fostering dignity and building resilience in our community.
We feed more than 500 households weekly
We enroll 10 to 15 new families weekly
We distribute thousands of pounds of fresh produce and pantry staples monthly
You make this work possible!
While we partner with a number of local organizations to support our families, we rely on neighbors like you to help us build and care for our community.
By investing in Camp Friendship, your donations support a lot of critical efforts

Together, we can ensure no neighbor goes hungry, while building a community that is resilient and devoted to local families.
